The story behind the quinta

Every beautiful project begins with a dream. This quinta was born from a deep desire for peace, nature and a place where people can come home to themselves.

I arrived in Portugal more than thirty years ago and never left. The rhythm of the Algarve; its light, its quiet confidence, shaped how I live and how I host. Before Quinta Maréa, I worked in hospitality, restoration, and renovation. Bringing those worlds together here felt natural: craft in the details, calm in the flow, and genuine attention in every welcome.

When I first stepped onto this land, it had been loved and then forgotten. I traced the owner, earned his trust, and restored the quinta: Santa Catarina underfoot, Moorish lines, doors that open wide to the garden. My aim is simple: create a place where luxury feels effortless and nature leads the way.

Guests come for many reasons; family time, a quiet retreat, a wedding, a few inspired days of work, and I’m present in a way that’s personal and discreet. Reliability matters to me; so does completeness. If it adds peace to your day, it belongs here.
